Rite in the rain - All Weather Pokka Pen

We all know carrying a pen will come in handy at some point, however most people including myself don't want the inconvenience of carrying a a full length pen in the pocket, especially if you are not wearing a jacket with larger pockets. Pokka pens, in collaboration with brands 'Riteintherain' and 'Fisher' have produced the all weather pocket sized pen. These pens are great affordable additions to anyone's every day carry, and can be used to write in the worst weather conditions imaginable.

Small compact size

One of the most compact and lightweight every day carry pens available. When not in use the pen can be stored in an incredibly small form factor, when in use the cap snaps onto the end of the barrel creating a regular length pen that is comfortable to write with. Choice of colours

• The three colours available are dark green, dark brown, black and orange. All three colours look great, the bright orange is a great colour if you ever find yourself struggling to find you pens/other gear in a packed bag, or if you are making notes etc. outdoors as the orange really stands out.
• Pokka pens (non-riteintherain) are available in many different colours and patterns. However this review is focused on the all weather rite in the rain version.

Pressurised cartridge

• The 0.8mm black (waterproof) ink cartridge included is pressurised, this allows it to be used in wet conditions and at any angle. This pen is also rated to perform at -30° to 250°F.

Made in the USA

• All Pokka pens including the rite in the rain/Fisher collaboration are 100% manufactured in the USA. There are many benefits gained from local manufacturing for both the business and consumer. The business greatly improves communication/logistics and problem solving. The consumer often benefits from a higher quality product.
• From an environmental standpoint local manufacturing also vastly reduces the carbon footprint and improves the local economy by providing jobs and maintains manufacturing infrastructure incase of global instability.

Every day carry compatible

• The compact size makes them perfect for pocket/every day carry, the additional pocket clip and keyring attachments (sold separately) also make it very easy to secure the pen in the pocket or to a bag. I also find that it fits very well in the coin pocket of jeans.

Quality and Value for money

The pens are made from a tough plastic material, they are comfortable in hand and write very smoothly on a range of surfaces and conditions. Although they are slightly more expensive here in the UK I would still highly recommend these pens, they have many features packed into a very small formfactor. Also if you lose one they can be easily replaced at a reasonable cost.
Overall I think Pokka are offering good value for money considering its versatility/portability and manufacturing in the USA.
